of this Activity
Stress, anxiety, worry, aggression
have all increased significantly in recent years. Individuals throughout
the world are reacting physically and mentally to constant stress, tension,
and anxiety. The World Health Organization has stated that stress
has become a “World Wide Epidemic."
This presentation addresses the
significant health problems of stress and stress-related conditions, and
presents research on the medical benefits of the Transcendental Meditation
(TM) technique. There will be an overview of the effects of stress on
physical and mental health, and a review of the research on the effectiveness
of the TM technique in the management of stress-related disorders. Studies
comparing the TM's effectiveness to other modalities are discussed, as
well as the application of TM in clinical practice.
